Cycle Routes
Satisfy your thirst for discovery and adventure on one of Connemara’s Cycle Loops. Cruise gently along the bog road, discover secluded beaches and simply breathe the fresh sea air. Starting in the delightful market town of Clifden, this is the perfect way to explore one of the Wild Atlantic Way’s most scenic areas. Against the breathtaking backdrop of the Twelve Bens and with the tranquil coastline at your side, you might even catch a glimpse of the wild seals and leaping dolphins out at sea.

Bunowen Bay Discovery Site
On the eastern side of the Slyne Head promontory is Bunowen Bay, a small, sheltered beach with crystal clear waters.
Not far from the beach is a small harbor, On the other side of the promontory is Connemara Golf Club.
Derrigimlagh Discovery Site
Derrigimlagh Bog is one of the Signature Discovery Points of the Wild Atlantic Way. It is a uniquely beautiful area of blanket peat bog but also as the scene of two significant events in international travel and communications history. Marconi’s first transatlantic radio signal in 1907. John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown in 1919 on the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic.
N59 Cycle Path
An extension of the Greenway this very scenic path is very popular for an evening cycle or stroll along the Derrylea Lake
Inagh Valley
Turn on to the R344, which takes you through the Inagh Valley. Meandering past Lough Inagh, the Twelve Bens are to the left, with the Maum Turk mountain range to the right. This is a stunningly beautiful scenic route.
