The Heartlands
65km Moderate 4+hours
This route brings the road cyclist on an experience of an ever-changing environment of stunning mountains, breathtaking and ancient boglands, mist-covered lakes, and shaded glens. While passing the picturesque Kylemore Abbey and the little village of Letterfrack thru the Connemara National Park.
Tour De Bens Short
80km Moderate/Hard 6+hours
This route brings the road cyclist to the north of Clifden towards the Connemara National Park and down the The Inagh Valley road meandering through the magnificent heather-covered mountains of the Twelve Bens and the Maamturks. Passing through cashels rocky coastline towards the charming fishing village of Roundstone and back along the exquisite coastline of Ballyconnelly and the white sandy beaches.
Tour De Bens
140km Hard 6+ hours
This challenging but satisfying 140km loop heads north towards Letterfrack thru the Connemara National Park and on towards the magnificent Killary Fjord. Continuing on past the picturesque community of Leenane, cyclists are honored by the breathtaking Maamturk Mountains and the Maam Valley. From here the landscape changes as you cross the N59 and enter into the Gaeltachts, along a Salmon fishery river and then reaching the sea offering views of the Lettermore Islands, along Kilkieran Bay passing thru Cashels rocky coastline towards the charming fishing village of Roundstone and back along the exquisite coastline of Ballyconnelly and it’s azorian blue waters and white sandy beaches, Clifden is the final destination on this ride where you have taken in some of the most beautiful vistas in the whole of Ireland.
