Families & Greenways

The 76km Connemara Greenway runs between the medieval city of Galway and the vibrant town of Clifden, passing through breathtaking scenery, historic sites, and charming towns and villages along the way.

When finished, the Connemara Greenway will be Ireland’s longest off-road walking and cycling path, offering a wide range of amenities, accommodations, and friendly faces along the route. The Connemara Greenway is a planned bicycle and pedestrian path that traces the path of the abandoned Galway-Clifden railway line, which closed in 1935.
