The local pony shows are a wonderful celebration of our famous Connemara ponies, bringing together breeders, riders and families for a great day out. Maamcross was on the 5th of July, with the Roundstone Pony, Sheep and Dog Show on the 12th of July and the Ballyconneely Agricultural Show on the 19th of July. The tradition of the communities meeting at these events is something of a way of life.  Often the banter follows into the pub, where many a story is told.
